They just don’t make ’em like they used to anymore! I love a good movie! (I better….I’m a movie critic!). If you’ve read my blog for any length of time, you know that I am saddened by the amount of originality, good acting, and flat out gutsyness that Hollywood now possesses, or rather, the lack thereof. As I thought about some of my favorite gutsy and original actors, I came to a realization that they were all born during the same decade….the 30’s!
Robert Redford, Dustin Hoffman, Gene Hackman, and Clint Eastwood! All iconic and classic actors born in the 30’s. Gotta love the 30’s! Ironically, the 30’s is also the decade during which televisions became commercially available so that we could watch these great actors in the comfort of our own homes! Today I ask you…..
(Did you happen to catch the connections between them that I inserted in the poll? Look again! Redford acted with Hoffman in All the President’s Men; Hoffman acted with Hackman in Runaway Jury; and Hackman acted with Eastwood in Unforgiven. Very cool!)
I’m sorry that I didn’t add Sir Michael Caine in the mix for you all!! (talk about making your voting difficult)! But he was also born in the 30’s!!!
Thanks for reading! Happy Watching!

I voted for Clint because well, that guy is a legend. He’s a rare movie star who’s found success as a director, and he’s such an iconic personality, too. Can’t believe these guys are in the 70s with no plans of slowing down (Redford also got a new movie coming out that I’m curious about, The Conspirator). Interesting degrees-of-separation there Scarlett.

I don’t know who I would vote for here. I like them all. Did you know that, in addition to acting and directing, Clint Eastwood also produced a music album entitled Cowboy Favorites? http://www.clinteastwood.net/welcome/alt/ He never ceases to amaze. Thanks for the heads up on Redford’s movie! I love his acting and this one wasn’t “on my radar” to quote you! 🙂 I will be looking at this one closely! Thanks so much for voting! At least the poll widget worked this week.

Yeah I know he’s a singer/songwriter, man, is there anything Clint CAN’T do?? Next thing we know he’s a dancer, too 🙂
Well, you just gave me an idea. I might blog about Conspirator, I haven’t done my Upcoming Flix Spotlight in a while.

Wow. My favourite. I’m actually not quite sure. That’s as difficult as choosing my favourite Beatles song!
Ya know what Clint Eastwood also does really well? TV advertisements!

I would have voted for “The Duke” John Wayne but he’s not on the list. John Wayne is the greatest!!! That’s just my biased opinion though lol.

DrkaMan!! Welcome back!! Regrettably, I couldn’t add the Duke to this list. He was born in 1907!! 🙂 Thanks for stopping by and commenting! I always appreciate it!

I narrowed it down to Eastwood and Hoffman and then decided on Eastwood, mainly because his talent goes beyond acting and into directing etc. You’ve given me food for thought with this poll!

Hello Roisin! Thanks so much for stopping by! Welcome to “the web!” Appreciate your comment and voting! It seems that Eastwood is winning by a landslide! It would have been interesting if I would have thrown in Michael Caine and Jon Voight into the mix too!
