Guest Post: Flixchatter hosts “Trailer Time Thursday!”

Greetings again from your friendly neighborhood ScarletSp1der. Today is Thursday and that, of course, means “Trailer Time Thursday!” In case you’re not aware of what Triple-T is all about, here you go:

Seeing as how everyone loves movie previews, “Trailer Time Thursday!” was created to bring all of the trending trailers that you may have missed in theaters, or just need to see, all in one convenient place! It makes Thursdays so great! Get ready! Your Preview Pandemonium awaits!

Today’s edition is hosted by my friend Flixchatter from http://flixchatter.wordpress.com since I am on vacation this week. FC is a very accomplished movie enthusiast and blogger who has also happened to have a few articles featured on www.imdb.com over the past 2 years! Be sure to visit her site from time to time and show some love! Okay, without further ado….here is this week’s edition of “Trailer Time Thursday!”

#1- When Harry Tries to Marry

A cross-cultural rom-com about a young Indian-American living in NYC who decided to have an arranged marriage following his parents’ divorce who had married for love. But when he fell for his longtime American friends, he suddenly realizes that perhaps leaving the passion out of a marriage isn’t such a good idea.

This actually looks pretty cute. It’s obviously an Americanized Bollywood film but the subject matter is pretty universal and the good looking cast should appeal to young people here in the US. This is Rahul Rai’s (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3660842/) debut as he was discovered by the filmmaker Nayan Padrai when he attended a Performing Arts program in college. I might check this one out on a rental.

#2- Cinema Verite

A behind-the-scenes look at the making of the first American family to be the subjects of a reality TV show.

Before the Osbournes and those crazy desperate housewives ever entered our living rooms on a weekly basis, we’ve had the Loud family in 1973. I had no idea they had reality tv back then, so I guess some things never changed. The cast looks pretty good: Tim Robbins, Diane Lane and toupee-wearing James Gandolfini. I can’t imagine putting a marriage through this, it’s tough enough without having a camera being shoved in your face day in and day out. As you can guess, the documentary “An American Family” they’re producing ended up shattering the very thing they’re trying to portray. Very ironic indeed.

#3- Crazy, Stupid, Love

A father’s life unravels while he deals with a marital crisis and tries to manage his relationship with his children.

Wow, I hadn’t heard about this movie before but what a cast! I’ve always loved Steve Carell brand of humor, yes he’s not exactly playing against type here but I give him a pass because he’s just so darn likable. This looks hilarious but not vapid or heartless, I’m not into all the sexual jokes but the plot about him wanting to get back together with his wife appeals to me. Girls who were swooning over Gosling would probably be hyperventilating over him here, man, I had no idea he’s so darn buff. Emma Stone is a charismatic actress so these four actors would certainly elevate this above your typical dra-medy.

TheScarletSp1der’s additions:
#1- Henry’s Crime

Released from prison after serving time for allegedly robbing a bank, Wrongly convicted Henry launches a plot to actually commit the robbery he was mistakenly incarcerated for.

With an official release date of this upcoming weekend, Henry’s Crime features Keanu Reeves teaming up with Vera Farmiga, James Caan, and others in this seemingly fun tale of “love and war.” Romance, Revenue, and Robbery!

#2- Priest

Based on the graphic novel of the same name, an excommunicated priest seeks justice against those that destroyed his family…and against the church that denies the existence of the vampires that transgressed against him.

Releasing on May 13th….say your prayers before that date comes!…..especially if you’re a vampire!

#3- Real Steel

Now, this trailer has been featured on this site before, but it’s time for another appearance! Hugh Jackman and a futuristic boxing ring that resembles Autobots and Rock’em Sock’em Robots!

I like Hugh Jackman and wouldn’t mind checking this one out in October! I’m not sure as to when we will actually get to see him fight as Wolverine again….so, this is the closest we’ll get for now!

**Coming to theaters this weekend: Your Highness, Hanna, Soul Surfer, and Arthur.

  1. It’s been an honor to contribute here, T, hope you’re enjoying your vacation so far.

I should pick Soul Surfer as this girl’s story is amazing, but I might save this for rental. I’ve been reading great reviews of HANNA so I might actually go to the movies for it. Love Keanu and Vera, so I might check out Henry’s Crime when it comes out, too.

    • Thank you for the amazing contribution and taking over the task of Triple-T!!!

Did you see the trailer for Dolphin Tale that I posted on Saturday? It kinda reminds me of Soul Surfer!
