It’s “Time to Vote Tuesday!” 48

May 10, 2011

Welcome to another edition of “Time to Vote Tuesday” today!

What is “Time to Vote Tuesday”? “Time to Vote Tuesday” is the session of fun weekly polls which spark thought, debate, and intrigue! Last week’s poll entitled ”Favorite Rom-Com Couples” has officially closed! (click HERE to see the results). Thank you to all those who voted and shared it! On to this week’s fun poll!

Sequels Sequels Sequels! One of the pet peeves of any movie enthusiast is Hollywood’s insistence of continual sequels, prequels, and remakes. A classic example of this: Final Destination. A series that focuses on a group of people that narrowly escape death, only to have death chase them down to collect on the debt owed.

The first one was revolutionary in its own right, but the subsequent sequels just got worse and worse until they launched THE Final Destination. The fourth film (and supposed LAST) in the franchise, though, did over $200 million in the box office….so…guess what! You guessed it…..FD5 is on the way and set to hit theaters in August of this year in hopes of making more money. <insert sarcastic “hooray!” and iconic eye-rolling!>

Here is the newest trailer for the series’ continued story. What do you think of another sequel?

Due to my “love” of the unoriginality in a lot of Hollywood films nowadays, I decided to bring a poll that centers around movies that were ruined by subsequent sequel series. Today I ask you…

Remember, you can vote for 2!

Thanks for reading! Happy Watching!

I loathe slasher flick, so my vote goes to SAW and movies like that. I wish Hollywood would quit making such movies, alas…

I also voted SAW, but not because i don’t like Slasher movies. I just feel the third movie was a perfect ending to the series.

Yeah. I remember seeing the the preview for 4th one, and i was like what the….

I mean, the way the third ended i don’t see how they could have continued it(I could tell you, but its a major spoiler)

Part of me wants to see it just to see how the heck they continued it, but another part of me is too annoyed with the continuing sequels to check it out

haha, thanks Castor. You know, a few other titles came to mind after I made the poll. Like The Matrix, American Pie, and Rambo. Gotta love ridiculous sequels.

I don’t even like any of the Pirates movies… lol

I voted SAW, that movie shouldn’t even be made… same goes to Final Destination…

And I want MORE Star Trek movies! haha 🙂

When it comes to Pirates…I STILL haven’t been able to finish the 3rd one.

I think that American Pie and The Mummy should be on this list too.

What about Shrek and Ice Age? Those 2 went to hell the minute the sequels came out…

agreed. Shrek redeemed itself with the fourth and final one. I don’t think, however, that there is hope for Ice Age.

The 2nd and 3rd Shrek was okay… the 4th “final” one is horrible…

I hate the squirrel thing in Ice Age… it was cute at first, but then got over-exploited and now it’s not amusing anymore, unless you are like 3 years old
