“Trailer Time Thursday!” 5.26.11

May 26, 2011

“Trailer Time Thursday!” is here! You wait for it every week. Like they say on Beauty and the Beast…”Certain as the sun rising in the east, you will always have ‘Trailer Time Thursday!’!!!” (It’s something like that, I’m sure!) 🙂

Here is your weekly fix of “Triple-T” (aka: “Trailer Time Thursday!”). In case this is your first visit to “Triple-T,” here’s what it’s all about:

Seeing as how everyone loves movie previews, “Trailer Time Thursday!” was created to bring all of the trending trailers that you may have missed in theaters, or just need to see, all in one convenient place! It makes Thursdays so great! Get ready! Your Preview Pandemonium awaits!

ENJOY!!! :)

Kung Fu Panda 2. Releasing tomorrow, here is a quick featurette for the sequel to the fun, high-flying, kung fu adventures of the first one. Jack Black and the crew return! Looks fun!

The Descendants. Starring George Clooney as a father who comes to terms with certain realizations and must carry himself, his daughters, and…well, mainly himself through a difficult time! His dependency on his descendants begins on December 16.

Shark Night 3D. In fashion with the trends of Hollywood, here is yet another underwater, “danger and death awaits” -type film…again. Only this time it features sharks. Not piranhas. Ho-hum…(sorry).

The Smurfs. Another 3D horror film of different kind and color. The Smurfs hits the big screen on July 29, 2011…only about 2.5 decades too late.

Take Shelter. Michael Shannon (soon to be seen as General Zod in Man of Steel) and Jessica Chastain (The Tree of Life) in a trailer for a movie that appears so engrossing and intriguing I already want to see it. This is the 2nd film from director Jeff Nichols (ironically, his first one…The Shotgun Stories…also stars Michael Shannon. Check out the dark and somewhat chilling trailer for that one HERE). The storm for this one starts brewing on October 7, 2011.

“Green With Envy”. You HAVE to check this one out!!! The highly entertaining and amusing trailer for the film codenamed “Green With Envy.” Just LOOK at this cast: Amy Adams, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, John Krasinksi, Emily Blunt, Selena Gomez, Jason Segal, Neil Patrick Harris, Jack Black, Danny Trejo, Rashida Jones, Ricky Gervais, Katy Perry, Chris Cooper, Whoopi Goldberg, Billy Crystal, Mickey Rooney, Liza Minnelli, Wanda Sykes, Kathy Griffin, even Rachael Ray!…oh, and a ton of other “familiar faces!” Wow!

Warrior. This trailer has been on Triple-T before, but I am looking forward to seeing this film. Tom Hardy is gaining a lot of attention lately as Bane in The Dark Knight Rises, which is shaping up pretty well. He might be sharpening up on his fighting skills with this one! Warrior releases Sept. 9, 2011.

Well, that’s it for this round of ‘Triple-T’ today! Which one has your interest?

Here’s what releases in theaters this weekend. May 26-29, 2011:

  • Wide Release: The Hangover: Part II and Kung Fu Panda 2
  • Limited Release: The Tree of Life

Thanks for reading! Happy Watching!

great! I’m glad you found the email useful. I hope it helps as you use it and other resources!

Take Shelter has my attention as well. Michael Shannon is a great, and somewhat, underrated actor. I expect Superman to bring him a lot more attention.

The Muppets is a November film to look forward to for sure. The Smurfs…I’ve questioned that choice from the start.

Shark Night 3D looks exactly like Piranha 3D but more serious and less fun.

    Love these Muppets teaser!

WOW, looks at that cast for Green with Envy… but most of these are more like a rental for me, T. I wish Tree of Life has a wide release to balance out all the loud stuff out this weekend.

Green With envy looks so fun though! When was the last time we got to see the muppets on the big screen?? Gotta go!

Tree of Life did surprisingly well for only 4 theaters though!! It would have given the other wide releases a run, you’re right!
