The Weekend Wrap 6.18.11

June 18, 2011

Welcome to another exciting edition full of quick news for the weekend. This is your “Weekend Wrap!” This segment will give you just a few quick bullet points of news that will, hopefully, wrap up a few stories/rumors/questions that you may or may not have seen and heard. Okay, here we go!

  • “Cowboys and Aliens Featurette!” Excited for Jon Favreau’s upcoming film Cowboys and Aliens ? I am! Here’s a featurette focusing on the upcoming event!
  • “Cruise Rocks Out!” Check out this latest pic of Tom Cruise as rocker Stacee Jaxx in Rock of Ages, a film about a girl from a small town who shows up in Hollywood during the height of the 1980s hard rock scene. Releasing on June 1, 2012, Rock of Ages also stars Paul Giamatti, Russell Brand, Malin Akerman, Alec Baldwin, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Bryan Cranston, and more.

  • “First Full Length REAL Trailer for The Muppets.” After several teaser trailers, here is the first official full length trailer for The Muppets which releases this upcoming Thanksgiving! Enjoy.
  • “New Movie Posters, part 1:” Crazy Stupid Love and Transformers: Dark of the Moon.

  • “The Wolverine has chosen a director!” Comic book fans rejoiced over the once-certified news that Darren Aronofsky would direct The Wolverine. Those same fans wept once they learned of Aronofsky’s departure from the project shortly thereafter. Since then, many names have been in the directorial bucket. One director now has been chosen to bring The Wolverine to the big screen. Welcome James Mangold. Mangold (known for directing Knight and Day, 3:10 to Yuma, and Walk the Line) will direct the sequel starring Hugh Jackman as Marvel’s mutant Wolverine!

  • “New Movie Posters, part 2:” Cowboys and Aliens and Warrior.

  • Sequels in the works: Despicable Me 2, Jurassic Park 4 (possibly), Percy Jackson and the Olympians: Sea of Monsters, Expendables 2 (now with confirmed director Simon West), Scary Movie 5, Halloween 3D, Final Destination 6 (likely).
  • “Plenty of Potter Posters!” Check out 22 Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 Posters and the final theatrical trailer. July 15th brings the end (?) for Harry Potter. (Is there more to come? click HERE)

Well, as they say, “That’s a WRAP!” Enjoy your weekend!!

Thanks for reading! Happy Watching!

ahahaha so many Harry Potter posters, and I’m pretty sure you missed another batch that came out a few days ago :p

I’m not sure what to make of The Muppets trailer. It looks like it could be absolute genius and just a really messy movie.

CAN’T WAIT for Cowboys & Aliens. I saw the latest trailer again and it just looks awesome. I always laugh and clap every time I saw it even though I think the filmmakers intend this to be a serious film, more Hulk less Iron Man I believe.
