“Trailer Time Thursday!” 12.15.11

December 15, 2011

Today is THURSDAY!!! And you know what that means!! 🙂 It is officially time for another fun-filled edition of “Trailer Time Thursday!”

Finally, your weekly fix of “Triple-T” (aka: “Trailer Time Thursday!”) has arrived!!

In case this is your first visit to “Triple-T,”here’s what it’s all about:

Seeing as how everyone loves movie previews, “Trailer Time Thursday!” was created to bring all of the trending trailers that you may have missed in theaters, or just need to see, all in one convenient place! It makes Thursdays so great! Get ready! Your Preview Pandemonium awaits!

ENJOY!!! :)

The Expendables 2. Enjoy the 1st teaser of a trailer for the sequel with more muscle and firepower! Sly and the crew look to return to the big screen with a few more inductees in the group! Let’s get ready to rumble on August 17, 2012.

Perfect Sense. Nearly a year ago (1-20-11’s Triple-T) I posted the first trailer for this interesting film starring Ewan MacGregor and Eva Green. An couple fall in love during an epidemic in the world that threatens to take away all senses. The desperation and angst can be felt in this semi-apocalyptic looking “life and love” tale! Look for its release on February 10, 2012.

Rock of Ages. Tom Cruise brings out his inner rockstar in this tribute to all things the lifestyle represented in the 80’s. Full of cliches and set in 1987, this one brings with it tons of music that you undoubtedly know and rocked out to with legwarmers and perms! Look for the music to come to a walkman near you on June 1, 2012!

Battleship (trailer#2). Remember the electronic board game? Okay, now…forget it! For a movie based on such it game, it has practically NOTHING to do with it. Looking like a mix between Skyline, Transformers, and Battle: Los Angeles, join Liam Neeson, Rihanna, Alexander Skarsgård, Brooklyn Decker, and more in this, shall we say, “unique” boardgame movie. Here’s the 2nd trailer! The mission begins on May 18, 2012.

Good Deeds. Tyler Perry plays a wealthy man (not Madea this time) whose perfect -or perfectly routine- life slightly takes a detour when he encounters a struggling single mom and decides to help her. Attracted by her enjoyment of the simple things, his good deeds may not be appreciated by his already ready to marry fiance! See what he chooses to do on February 24, 2012.

G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation. The sequel finally has a trailer!…and it’s pretty amazing! That’s all I’m saying! Check it out. June 29, 2012!

(If you want to see the rather boring  star-studded trailer for the upcoming What to Expect When You’re Expecting then click HERE. It stars Elizabeth Banks, Anna Kendricks, Cameron Diaz, Dennis Quaid, Jennifer Lopez, Brooklyn Decker, Chris Rock, and many more. Don’t say I didn’t warn you though!)

This Week’s “Special Trailer Spotlight”:

New Trailer for China’s most expensive film: The Flowers of War

Under recommendation of Steven Spielberg, Christian Bale (The Dark Knight) was chosen to star in this historical based drama that tells the story of “a Westerner [who] finds refuge with a group of women in a church during Japan’s raid of Nanking in 1937. Posing as a priest, he attempts to lead the women to safety.” Releasing in China tomorrow, and limitedly in the US between now and year’s end, The Flowers of War is “China’s official submission to the Best Foreign Language Film category of the 84th Academy Awards 2012.” Gaining attention amongst critics worldwide it is reportedly China’s most expensive film with a budget of roughly $90M! Check out the newest trailer below. What are your thoughts?

Well, that’s it for this round of ‘Triple-T’!

My favorite trailers from today: G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation, Rock of Ages, and Perfect Sense. Which ones are your favorites??

Are you ready for the weekend in theaters??!! Here’s what releases this weekend, December 16, 2011:

  • Wide Release: Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, Alvin & The Chipmunks: Chipwrecked, and Carnage
  • Limited Release: Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol (IMAX/select theaters)

For a look at more releasing tomorrow in theaters:

Thanks for reading! Happy Watching!

Rock of Ages and The Expendables 2 look very silly… But I still really want to watch them! I’m not sure about G.I. Joe 2 and Battleship, though.

haha, The Expendables 2 will be fun! But I am most interested in seeing what GI JOE2 does to differentiate itself from the boring first installment!

      Battleship…? no thank you.

Oh god, T. So, between the crappy trailer for John Carter, and this Craptastic trailer for Battleship, I’m beginning to worry my fourth round pick in the AM league, Taylor Kitsch, is going to lose every point he earns via the Rotten Tomatoes coefficient.

    I am screwed.

But no, you’re not getting Scarlett Jo. 😀

Meanwhile, I dont know what the hell to make of Rock of ages, the music scares me… its like Glee or something. But its got a great cast….

How crazy is it though that they’re not marketing with Tom Cruise? Maybe they’re waiting to see how MI:4 plays? I dont know. But Cruise is NOTICEABLY absent from the marketing campaign….

Anyways, thanks for sharing. I know posts like this take time!!!!

hahaha. Well, just know I’m here for you if you feel the need to leave her to me! haha

I was curious about Tom Cruise’s limited appearance in the trailer, but it made me only about as sad as I was about Kristen Stewart’s limited appearance in Snow White and the Huntsman’s trailer (JUMPING FOR JOY!!) ha. Okay, perhaps not that much, but I was afraid that maybe hearing him sing would make me automatically hate the film. As it stands, I wouldn’t mind watching it! We’ll see.

Thanks for your comment man. It does take time. Nice of you to mention!

      Movie plans for the weekend?

Rock of the Ages sounds like fun! I mean, I grew up listening to 80s music so it’s definitely for my generation. Seeing Tom Cruise as a rock star is a hoot, I gotta admit he ages pretty gracefully.

I’m also looking forward to Flowers of War.
