“Trailer Time Thursday!” 2.2.12

February 2, 2012

Today is THURSDAY!!! And you know what that means!! 🙂 It is officially time for another fun-filled edition of “Trailer Time Thursday!”

Finally, your weekly fix of “Triple-T” (aka: “Trailer Time Thursday!”) has arrived!!

In case this is your first visit to “Triple-T,”here’s what it’s all about:

Seeing as how everyone loves movie previews, “Trailer Time Thursday!” was created to bring all of the trending trailers that you may have missed in theaters, or just need to see, all in one convenient place! It makes Thursdays so great! Get ready! Your Preview Pandemonium awaits!

ENJOY!!! :)

The Cold Light of Day. Henry Cavill (sounds like “travel”) stars as Superman in 2013’s Man of Steel, but first you can catch him in this thriller alongside Sigourney Weaver and Bruce Willis. The Cold Light of Day looks to pack quite a bit of action. For more on this film that releases on April 6th click HERE.

Step Up 4. As if #3 wasn’t enough. Here comes the 4th installment of the series. More dance than story, I’m sure, this one doesn’t look like anything special, but does have a couple of spots that may make the dance enthusiast say “WHOA” (in a Keanu Reeves/Matrix sort of way). Check out the trailer and, if you want to, toe-tap your way into a theater near you to see it on July 27, 2012.

Get the Gringo. Coming straight to video-on-demand soon, originally entitled “How I Spent My Summer Vacation,” this Mel Gibson film tells the tale of “a career criminal (Gibson) nabbed by Mexican authorities is placed in a tough prison where he learns to survive with the help of a 9-year-old boy.” -imdb. You tell me what you think.

Red Lights. Finally, the full trailer for this upcoming thriller starring Cillian Murphy, Sigourney Weaver, and Robert De Niro. (The previous teaser trailer was horrifically vague.) This film follows two investigative doctors who place the paranormal under the microscope. Look for Red Lights to start shining this year in theaters.

The Hunter. Willem Dafoe hunts down the elusive/fabled Tasmanian Tiger which has been long thought extinct. Recent rumors spark the belief that one yet lives. Follow him on the tumultuous trek.

7500. Wow. Ever wonder why they tell you to turn off your electronic devices on a plane? Well, the consequences for not heeding might very well be grim. Just watch the trailer for this upcoming thrill seeker’s horror pleasure and you’ll understand. It comes to theaters on August 31, 2012.

This Week’s “Special Trailer Spotlight”:

Star Wars: Episode I “Sweded”

Star Wars: Episode I does come to theaters this month in 3D. Perhaps THE worst of the entire saga, I don’t fancy a 3D viewing of it. BUT I would watch this comedic parody of the film. The term “sweded” originated from the film Be Kind Rewind and refers to the process a film goes through when it has been erased and then recreated in a single take with minimal editing! Ready for a fun laugh or 3? Enjoy the “Sweded” version of Star Wars: Episode I.

Well, that’s it for this round of ‘Triple-T’!

My favorite trailers from today: 7500, Red Lights, and The Cold Light of Day . Which ones are your favorites??

Are you ready for the weekend in theaters? Here’s what releases this weekend, February 3, 2012:

  • Wide Release: The Woman in Black, The Innkeepers, Chronicle, and Big Miracle
  • Limited Release: Kill List, W.E., and Windfall

And by the way, this upcoming Sunday (Feb 5) is the Superbowl. Get ready for some movie trailers during the commercials. Some have already hit the web, such as G.I. Joe: Retaliation. Previews for the Superbowl spot for others such as The Avengers have also already hit the web. Be on the lookout!

Thanks for reading! Happy Watching!

I think the only one I’m interested in watching is Red Lights. Maybe not enough to post it on my site though. Thanks for the collection, T.

Thanks for the link love, T! As you know I’m excited for Henry’s film.

What, Gibson in a direct-to-dvd movie?? Wow, the industry hasn’t forgiven him clearly. I haven’t even heard of that one. 7500 is super creepy! I guess they’ll always manage to find spooky airline travel plots to use in movies.

My pleasure. Becoming more of a Cavill fan myself. 7500 looks pretty creepy doesn’t it? I imagine Nov will like it.

The Cold Light of Day and Red Lights both look pretty interesting. Maybe 2012 marks a Sigourney Weaver resurgence? 😀

Get the Gringo looks like it has the potential to be fun. I suspect that if Gibson weren’t still persona non grata in Hollywood that wouldn’t be direct-to-video.

7500 should just be renamed Ghost on a Plane. And they should have asked Samuel Jackson to return for the spinoff! Now that would have been at least half-fun 😉
