UPDATED: “Trailer Time Thursday!” 5.31.12

May 31, 2012

Today is THURSDAY!!! And you know what that means!! 🙂 It is officially time for another fun-filled edition of “Trailer Time Thursday!”

Finally, your weekly fix of “Triple-T” (aka: “Trailer Time Thursday!”) has arrived!!

In case this is your first visit to “Triple-T,”here’s what it’s all about:

Seeing as how everyone loves movie previews, “Trailer Time Thursday!” was created to bring all of the trending trailers that you may have missed in theaters, or just need to see, all in one convenient place! It makes Thursdays so great! Get ready! Your Preview Pandemonium awaits!

ENJOY!!! :)

The Odd Life of Timothy Green. Enjoy this new trailer sharing a better look (as opposed to the first trailer) at Disney’s upcoming film about a couple who has been trying to have a child and unexpectedly end up with one…but not through the usual way! Starring Jennifer Garner, Joel Edgerton, and Cameron ‘CJ’ Adams, look for this delightful film to sprout up in theaters on August 15, 2012.

The Watch. You’ve NEVER seen or been a part of a neighborhood watch quite like this one…guaranteed. The comedy genius forces of Seth Rogen (writer of this film), Jonah Hill, Vince Vaughn, Ben Stiller, and that one guy with the glasses that nobody seems to remember from anything (Richard Ayoade…for the record) come together to share this hilarious and unexpected look at what to expect when you join your local neighborhood watch. Keep a “lookout” for this one to hit theaters on July 27.

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter (International trailer). WARNING! This new international trailer should probably be rated “R” and be a “Redband” trailer. It’s pretty violent for a trailer. However, the action is pretty awesome. Undoubtedly, the action is loaded into this trailer in hope of attracting a bigger audience, but, hey, we’ll take it. Watch the 16th President of the United States hack and slash some vampires with a silver axe in this most recent trailer. Prepare to relearn “history” as you never have before on June 22 with the likes of Rufus Sewell, Benjamin Walker, Dominic Cooper, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and more!

Rush (featurette). Director Ron Howard (Apollo 13, Backdraft, The DaVinci Code) brings the biography of Formula 1 racer Niki Lauda to life. Check out the quick synopsis from imdb:

A biography of Formula 1 champion driver Niki Lauda and the 1976 crash that almost claimed his life. Mere weeks after the accident, he got behind the wheel to challenge his rival, James Hunt.

Starring Chris Hemsworth, Olivia Wilde, Daniel Brühl, and more, this exciting film will be racing into theaters next year. Check out the featurette about the upcoming project below.

Lay the Favorite. Starring Bruce Willis and Rebecca Hall, this ‘dramedy’ is about a young woman who aligns herself with a group of older “geeky” men after finding a way to cheat the sportsbook system in Las Vegas. I’m gonna take a gamble here and bet on this one not winning any awards, but it looks like it could be a bit of mediocre fun on a Saturday afternoon. ?? Any takers? What are the odds that you will see this sometime this year as it has numerous international release dates for 2012?

Red Lights. This most recent trailer for this psychic phenomena thriller starring Robert DeNiro, Sigourney Weaver, and Cillian Murphy grabs and keeps the attention for sure! A set of doctors who have made their career out of exposing false “experts” of communicating with the spirit world put their attention on the world’s most renowned psychic in order to expose him as a fraud. Only this time…they got more than they bargained for. Red Lights gets a greenlight on July 13, 2012.

Les Misérables. This stunning first teaser trailer for one of the most popular musicals of all-time is a beautiful sneak peek at what is to come. Featuring the singing of Anne Hathaway, watch this trailer which also shows other cast members, including Russell Crowe, Hugh Jackman, Amanda Seyfried, and Eddie Redmayne, the film also stars Sacha Baron Cohen, Helen Bonham Carter and more. Taken from imdb, here is a quick synopsis for those unfamiliar with the tale:

Prisoner 24601, Jean Valjean, is released from prison and breaks parole to create a new life for himself while evading the grip of the persistent Inspector Javert. Set in early 19th-century France, the story reaches resolution against the background of the July Revolution of 1832.

Can’t wait to see it? It will be released this Christmas season (December 14, 2012).

UPDATE: New Trailer for Bourne Legacy!

This Week’s “Special Trailer Spotlight”:

Trailer for documentary: One Day On Earth

What a unique concept! 24 hours of recording in every country of the world all condensed into this fantastic looking documentary. Explore the world…the entire world…from your seat as you watch everyday events that happen all in the same day…all around the world. What a great perspective! Check out the trailer and you’ll have a great appreciation for the documentary, your country, your world, your fellow man.

Well, that’s it for this round of ‘Triple-T’!

My favorite trailers from today: The Odd Life of Timothy Green, Les Misérables, and Red Lights. Which ones are your favorites??

Are you ready for the weekend in theaters? Here’s what releases this weekend, June 1, 2012:

I’m in for Lay the Favourite, if only to see Rebecca Hall in a comedy. I’ve only seen her in downbeat stuff.

It has a certain appeal to it…one that doesn’t appeal to me…but I hope that she does a good comedy

Interesting to see that little bit about Rush. Seems after the success of Senna, film makers want to get more out of iconic F1 drivers.

I like that featurette for Rush. It’s interesting to see Chris Hemsworth in the role. Funny, he normally keeps his hair short but is seen in several roles with longer hair (with the plugs/extensions). He must really like the look! haha

One Day on Earth sounds a hell of a lot like Life in a Day! The Watch trailer just got me interested in that film again. Looks pretty funny!

I have some interest in Rush but the others aren’t that interesting to me. BTW, you must’ve published this post before The Bourne Legacy trailer came out. You should add it to this post, the trailer looks great.

thank you Ted for the heads up on Bourne. It seems this year that trailers love to release later in the day on Trailer Time Thursday after I am already at work. In my first year, Thursday really was a safe day to list all of the trailers. It’s changed.

BUT, I got it going, from my phone, in the breakroom at work, after I read your post! Good looking out! Thanks again. It’s a great trailer. esp the end.

Vampire Hunter looks fun, and Red Lights looks good tho a bit generic.

My hubby is excited about the new Bourne movie (that doesn’t have Bourne in it, heh) but I really don’t mind just renting it. Not crazy about Renner and not sure I ever will.

That Vampire Hunter one is sooo bloody, lots of chopping heads for sure. But because of Rufus, my friend Becky & I gonna see it on the big screen 🙂

I’ve never even heard of The Odd Life of Timothy Green, but Joel Edgerton’s in it? Ok, now I’m intrigued.

I think Renner will do well in the Bourne series. Wouldn’t it be funny if, afterall, Damon IS in the movie AS Bourne? Maybe in an after-credits scene!

      Glad you like Odd Life.

As a fan of F1, I am psyched about Rush. Modern F1 is a bit too clinical; this and Senna shows how passionate F1 used to be. Its sorely missed.

Looking forward to seeing the passion of F1 portrayed on the screen. Thanks for the earlier reminder of the film

Aw man Rush is a great story that is going to be ruined. james Hunt was such a great driver. I remember seeing him post win getting out the car and asking for a cigarette, straight away. Don’t see that anymore!

I will keep my fingers crossed for that one.

You truly think it’s going to be ruined? Seems like they are trying to stay as true as possible to the content source.
