It’s “Time to Vote Tuesday!” 103

June 12, 2012

Today is Tuesday! and if you’ve been coming here for any length of time, you know that, for most people Tuesday is just the day after Monday, but for you it means that “Time to Vote Tuesday” is here!! YES!!!

What is “Time to Vote Tuesday”?:

“Time to Vote Tuesday” is the session of fun weekly polls which spark thought, debate, and intrigue! Each poll closes in a week with results posted on the following ‘TVT’!

Last week’s poll, Academy Acknowledgement has now closed with 32 votes. Everyone voted to show off just how many of the “best picture” winners from 2000 to present they had seen. How well versed were you in the subject up for voting last week, hmm? Check out the results HERE.

I wish to thank everyone that voted in last week’s polls, shared it with others, and made it fun with your comments!

In this edition of ‘TVT’ this week’s poll, entitled “Notable Norton”, we take a look at one of the favorites in Hollywood amongst fans: Edward Norton.

The Oscar-nominated actor has been in several films over the past several years that moviegoers clamor about. Last night, I sat and watched American History X all the way through for the first time. Wow, not light watching. Definitely intense. And while a lot of the movie was unsettling for reasons such as content, profanity, etc, I found Norton’s performance to be moving.

He’s been in several other films I have enjoyed, such as The Italian Job, The Illusionist, Primal Fear, and more. I am definitely looking forward to seeing him in The Bourne Legacy and in the recently released Wes Anderson film Moonrise Kingdom.

Norton, who coincidentally turned down the role of Private Ryan in Saving Private Ryan, has made quite a name for himself in roles that highlight characters with inner struggles, dual personalities (The Incredible Hulk, Fight Club), intelligence, and wit. I’m a fan of his.

Today I ask you:

The poll closes on 6-19-12 and the results will post on next week’s “Time to Vote Tuesday!”

Look for Norton next in August 3rd’s Bourne Legacy with Jeremy Renner and Rachel Weisz!

Thanks for reading! Happy Watching!

Hands down – American History X. Great in Fight Club too, but American History X is by far his most powerful performance.

A powerful performance no doubt. Thanks for voting today Jaina! It seems like most people prefer one or the other of those choices.

I considered Rounders, but that’s really more of a Matt Damon movie. Norton gets things started, but he’s not the focus. So I’ll go with Fight Club.

And is it just me, or is “Stay away from Edward Norton” a good rule of thumb for anybody in a movie? Seems like one way or another he’s always bad news for the other characters.

Yeah, Rounders is a good choice, but I’m glad you went with Fight Club instead.

and that is a pretty good rule for Ed Norton, haha, I hadn’t really noticed that before.

I would have chosen All of the above, but unfortunately it wasn’t a choice :(. I love Norton and to just pick one movie was uber hard, but I went with Fight Club, possibly because it was the first movie I had seen him in that caught my attention. I only started paying attention to him after Fight Club, and I originally went to see this only because of Brad Pitt…lol

😀 All of the above! that’d be too easy! But glad to see a Norton fan! that’s pretty awesome that you went to see Fight Club just for Pitt and ended up liking it mainly for Norton. Love those great surprises.

My favourite film of all time is Fight Club but I have to say his best role is AHX. He is absolutely brilliant in that film. One of the best performances I’ve ever seen.

Tough, tough choice. I went with Fight Club, but I could have just as easily voted for American History X, 25th Hour or Rounders.

Well, the fact that it is a tough choice is testament to the fact that he has done some pretty awesome work. Ultimately, you made a good choice.

I actually like him in a drama The Painted Veil, though he is my fave character in Fight Club. He really blew me away in Primal Fear though.

Gotta go with American History X. It takes a lot of actorly skills to fake-smash someone’s jaw on a sidewalk lol
