“Trailer Time Thursday!” 6.28.12 (PT 1)

June 28, 2012

Today is THURSDAY!!! And you know what that means!! 🙂 It is officially time for another fun-filled edition of “Trailer Time Thursday!”

Finally, your weekly fix of “Triple-T” (aka: “Trailer Time Thursday!”) has arrived!!

In case this is your first visit to “Triple-T,”here’s what it’s all about:

Seeing as how everyone loves movie previews, “Trailer Time Thursday!” was created to bring all of the trending trailers that you may have missed in theaters, or just need to see, all in one convenient place! It makes Thursdays so great! Get ready! Your Preview Pandemonium awaits!

ENJOY!!! :)

As you can see, just like last week, this installment is labeled as “PART 1”! Once again, there were too many good trailers to share, so later today, PART 2 will publish will more of the fun! Stay tuned. Part 2 is scheduled to post at 1pm EST!

Here Comes the Boom. A school, the poorest in its district, is in even greater financial trouble. It’s either close the school entirely or cut out all extra-curricular activities. Once upon a time teacher of the year (Kevin James) rises up to the challenge to not let his school down! This upcoming comedic story of fighting for what’s worth fighting for looks to be a lot of fun and co-stars Salma Hayek. Set to release on October 12, 2012.

Alex Cross. This story features Tyler Perry as the James Patterson novel detective Alex Cross. Hunting down a deranged madmen in a classic cat and mouse game, watch as Cross fights to protect his city, but more importantly, his life and those he loves. This thriller hit theaters October 19, 2012.

Frankenweenie. Check out this second full trailer to Tim Burton’s upcoming stop-motion adventure about a boy and his dog…his dead dog! The first trailer didn’t really grab my attention, but the added tidbits of the story in this one are quite fun. Are you ready to see the resurrection of this tale told once again? You can see it in theaters on October 5, 2012.

The Prototype. This unique looking film reminds me a little bit of The Fifth Element meets Nine. Starring several folks, including a few actors from my local community, this sci-fi thriller tells a pretty neat tale that’s worth checking out the trailer to learn about. The Prototype is set to release next year.

Celeste And Jesse Forever. Andy Samberg and Rashida Jones star as best friends/divorcees who remain friends until one of them gets serious with someone else. Will jealously rear its ugly head? Will they end up back together…forever? as the title suggests. Predict it and see if you are right as this one is set to release later this year.

Total Recall. I’ll be honest, I’m still not too excited for this film, but this new trailer shows a lot more action and is starting to work on me. Get ready for Colin Farrell, Kate Beckinsale, Bryan Cranston, Jessica Biel, and more in this upcoming remake that is set to hit theaters on August 3.

This Week’s “Special Trailer Spotlight”:

Spike Lee presents Red Hook Summer

This upcoming Spike Lee joint about a young boy who is “sentenced” by his mom to spend the summer up in Brooklyn with his overly enthusiastic and “churchy” grandfather. While there, he finds it his worldviews changed as Brooklyn is a far different world than his home of Atlanta. Look for the Red Hook Summer before year’s end. Enjoy!

Well, that’s it for this round of ‘Triple-T’!

My favorite trailers from PT 1: Alex Cross, Here Comes the Boom, and Celeste & Jesse Forever. Which ones are your favorites??

Prepare for PART 2 of today’s Trailer Time Thursday (scheduled to publish at 1pm EST) featuring more trailers, including the most recent trailer for September 28th’s Looper!

Thanks for reading! Happy Watching!

Alex Cross looks like it might be pretty good… is that the same Tyler Perry who perpetrates all of those awful Madea films? Maybe if he sticks to serious films he’ll produce something worth watching.

    The Prototype also looks interesting…

The Prototype really is interesting and it will be good to see Tyler Perry in something other than Madea. I mean, we got to see him in Star Trek, but at least this time we will see more of him in a different role. I wish him the best.
