“Trailer Time Thursday!” 7.12.12

July 12, 2012

Today is THURSDAY!!! And you know what that means!! 🙂 It is officially time for another fun-filled edition of “Trailer Time Thursday!”

Finally, your weekly fix of “Triple-T” (aka: “Trailer Time Thursday!”) has arrived!!

In case this is your first visit to “Triple-T,”here’s what it’s all about:

Seeing as how everyone loves movie previews, “Trailer Time Thursday!” was created to bring all of the trending trailers that you may have missed in theaters, or just need to see, all in one convenient place! It makes Thursdays so great! Get ready! Your Preview Pandemonium awaits!

Got a pretty good group of interesting/exciting trailers for you today. ENJOY!!! :)

Rise of the Guardians (trailer#2). DreamWorks presents this second trailer showcasing Jack Frost teaming up with several other legends to defeat the threat of the Boogieman. Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, the Sandman, and more, team up to protect the children of Earth. Hugh Jackman once again lends his vocal talent in this November 21, 2012 release.

Nitro Circus 3D. The tv series now follows in the footsteps of Jackass as a movie of these crazy daredevils features them and some of the wildest stunts you ever saw performed. (Minus Johnny Knoxville and Steve-O). Look for the film on August 8, 2012.

Cosmopolis. Starring Robert Pattinson, enter the world of the future…that fears and despises the future. David Cronenberg directs this thriller that focuses on a 28 year old billionaire and his search for meaning of life in a world that is being torn apart. A possible masterpiece in the making, Cosmopolis is coming to the US in August 2012.

V/H/S. Another trailer for this upcoming horror flick that begs the question: “Why are they still using VHS tapes?” A group of people are hired to ransack a residence and steal one vhs tape, yet, when they play it…they get much much more than they ever reckoned. Look for this horror flick to be in theaters and OnDemand in August 2012.

Sleepwalk With Me. A stand-up comedian with a continual habit of sleepwalking, deals with life, love, and work. While trying to ignore the issues of his life, it is the realization of the need to accept them that seem to set him free. Look for this delightful looking film sometime this year.

Gangster Squad (int’l trailer). This recently released trailer shows only a little bit more footage, but I like it. Gangster Squad stars Ryan Gosling, Sean Penn, Emma Stone, Josh Brolin, and more in this tale of the city of Los Angeles and a few men who fight against the incoming mob from the east coast. September 7th, the bullets will fly.

This Week’s “Special Trailer Spotlight”:

Oz: The Great and Powerful

The first trailer for this upcoming “prequel” hit the web today. Directed by Sam Raimi, Oz: The Great and Powerful focuses on the Wizard himself and how he came to the land of Oz and became the great Wizard we somewhat know him to be. Look for it in theaters on March 8, 2013.

What do you think? Are you excited to see this?

Well, that’s it for this round of ‘Triple-T’!

My favorite trailers from today: Rise of the Guardians, Cosmopolis, and Gangster Squad. Which ones are your favorites??

Are you ready for the weekend in theaters? Here’s what releases this weekend, July 13, 2012:

  • Wide Release: Ice Age Continental Drift
  • Limited Release: Easy Money, Red Lights, The Imposterand more.

Thanks for reading! Happy Watching!

Cosmopolis was out here a few weeks back but I chickened out on seeing it after some reading some scathing reviews.

Gangster Squad’s my pick out of this lot. Looks great!

    Hi T. Hope you’re well 🙂

How do you feel about Oz? I know that you have a soft spot for The Wizard of Oz, especially Somewhere Over the Rainbow! I like the look of the trailer but I don’t know much about it. I take it its set before The Wizard of Oz?

I wish I was at Comic-Con this year. There’s so much info coming out about The Hobbit and Weta Workshop/Peter Jackson have been posting some great stuff on Facebook!

CLAIRE! So wonderful to hear from you. Thank you for stopping in. Sorry for my delayed response. Been ever so busy at work lately.

I am actually intrigued by Oz. yes, Somewhere over the Rainbow does hold a special place for me and The Wizard of Oz. I will admit, Raimi has some work to do, in my eyes, to gain extra favor after Spider-Man 3 (borderline ruining my fave hero). Hope he doesn’t do the same with one of my fave movies.

You would’ve been in HEAVEN at Comic-Con with the Hobbit panel for sure. The cast being there and all. Have you ever met any of the cast?

Rise of the Guardians looks better with each little thing I see from it. I just hope they don’t try and do the whole “Shrek” thing with 2-3 sequels.
