“Trailer Time Thursday!” 8.16.12

August 16, 2012

Today is THURSDAY!!! And you know what that means!! 🙂 It is officially time for another fun-filled edition of “Trailer Time Thursday!”

Finally, your weekly fix of “Triple-T” (aka: “Trailer Time Thursday!”) has arrived!!

In case this is your first visit to “Triple-T,” here’s what it’s all about:

Seeing as how everyone loves movie previews, “Trailer Time Thursday!” was created to bring all of the trending trailers that you may have missed in theaters, or just need to see, all in one convenient place! It makes Thursdays so great! Get ready! Your Preview Pandemonium awaits!

ENJOY!!! :)

The Master (teaser trailer). This additional teaser trailer for the upcoming drama starring Joaquin Phoenix, Amy Adams and Philip Seymour Hoffman gives just slightly more of a bit of insight into this film that revolves around a wandering man who attaches himself to the teachings of an enthusiastic leader of a faith-based organization in the 1950s. Though not much is given in terms of info, the trailer intrigues me. Watch and listen to The Master on Sept. 21, 2012.

Red Dawn. Yes…it’s a remake. But Patrick Swayze does not star in this one. Chris Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson and others star in this film that shares a plausible story of a group of Americans who survive an invasion attack from North Korean forces on American soil. They band together to fight against the enemies. Watch them in this exciting action thriller that invades a theater near you on November 21, 2012.

Paranorman (trailer#3). This 3rd trailer for the stop-motion feature sets a different mood than previous trailers and tells the story of what to expect from this childhood adventure. Watch as Norman helps the undead by fighting against the threatening ghost of the evil witch in this paranormal thriller that rises to the big screen THIS weekend (8/17/12).

Seven Psychopaths. I just love the cast in this film: Christopher Walken, Sam Rockwell, Woody Harrelson, Abbie Cornish and, okay, even Colin Farrell. Here’s the synopsis from the film’s IMDB page: “A struggling screenwriter inadvertently becomes entangled in the Los Angeles criminal underworld after his oddball friends kidnap a gangster’s beloved Shih Tzu.” Ha! It just gets better than that. Watch the trailer and be ready for the psychopaths on October 12, 2012.

Deadfall. Eric Bana and Olivia Wilde star as outlaw siblings who run into even greater trouble after a heist goes wrong. This one definitely has some intrigue and twists attached to it as the action and suspense adds up. Hitting OnDemand on November 2nd and limited theaters on December 7th, be on the lookout for Deadfall.

Looper (int’l trailer). This international trailer for this upcoming film is a little bit bloodier than the previous ones. Be warned. But it looks so good. Enjoy this new trailer for this film that stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt as an assassin who runs into a unique situation when his target ends up being an older version of himself sent from the future. Stay in the loop with this one when it hits theaters on September 28, 2012.

Spotlight Trailer of the Week.

Featurette for Dredd 3D

Check out this new featurette for the upcoming reboot of the tough law enforcer who brings justice to a jaded world. Karl Urban stars as the titular character, only this time it is in 3D. Can’t wait to see how the comic character is brought to life (sans Sylvester Stallone). Look for Dredd on September 21.

What do you think? Are you excited to see this?

Well, that’s it for this round of ‘Triple-T’!

My favorite trailers from today: Seven Psychopaths, Deadfall and Looper. Which ones are your favorites??

Are you ready for the weekend in theaters? Here’s what releases this weekend, August 17, 2012:

  • Wide Release: The Expendables 2, ParaNorman, Sparkle and The Odd Life of Timothy Green
  • Limited Release: Cosmopolis, Compliance, Robot & Frank and more.

Thanks for reading! Happy Watching!

Seven Psychopaths looks pretty much flawless apart from Abbie Cornish. For few years now she looks heavily sedated and disinterested in every movie she makes.

It looks hilarious. Christopher Walken alone makes me want to see it. But Abbie, well, she hasn’t really stood out in anything has she?

I haven’t seen the original Red Dawn but might rent this one w/ Hemsworth in it. Seven Psychopaths’ trailer looks good but my gut says the movie itself might not be as good.

I hope this remake will be good. I liked the original. And, as I told Sati, Seven Psychopaths looks hilarious. Christopher Walken is the reason I will see it.

I am trying to catch up my friend. There have been so many things I need to catch up on and several movies. Work keeps me ultra-busy and life isn’t slowing down! I hope to catch ParaNorman soon.
