It’s “Time to Vote Tuesday!” 126

November 20, 2012

Today is Tuesday! and if you’ve been coming here for any length of time, you know that, for most people Tuesday is just the day after Monday, but for you it means that “Time to Vote Tuesday” is here!! YES!!!

What is “Time to Vote Tuesday”?:

“Time to Vote Tuesday” is the session of fun weekly polls which spark thought, debate, and intrigue! Each poll closes in a week with results posted on the following ‘TVT’!

Last week’s poll entitled Butler Birthday has now closed with a total of 39 votes. The results are in and the top Gerard Butler movie role has been chosen. And, it comes as no surprise that King Leonidas rules! Thank you to all those who voted as last week we celebrated the Spartan king’s 43rd birthday! I was a little surprised at the rest of the results though. Be sure to check out the results in from last week’s poll HERE.

I wish to thank everyone that voted in last week’s polls, shared it with others, and added to the conversation with your comments!

In this edition of ‘TVT’ this week’s poll, entitled “Smile-causing Shopping Scenes”, we take a look at some fun shopping scenes in movies!

In case you did not know, I work in retail. And staying busy is often an understatement. Multiple that by about 1,000 when the holiday season approaches! Traditionally, the holiday season really kicks off with a BANG with After-Thanksgiving specials that begin on Black Friday (or nowadays “Black Thursday” and soon in the future may just end up being “Black Tuesday or Sunday” the way things are going. (Come on, Corporate America, let holidays truly be the days off they were intended to be. Retail workers have families and love to celebrate holidays too! [end mini-rant]).

Ah, Black Friday! Swarms upon swarms of people rushing to get those super-sale items either for themselves or for their loved ones. Increased road rage, increased emotional breakdowns, increased stress! Gotta love all the hustle and bustle just to save a few dollars! 😉 Do you dare brave the elements that day as a mighty salmon swimming against the current? I will admit it can be quite a rush and quite fun. I enjoy it when a movie can take the shopping experience and make it fun to watch as the characters on the screen experience some of the same stress, frustration and lack of self control! Shopping scenes usually are quite laughable! And what a better way to kick off the holiday shopping season than to look at a few!

Below are some of MY favorite Smile-causing Shopping Scenes!

Today I ask you:

Choose wisely and be safe (AND BE KIND TO YOUR RETAIL WORKERS) on Friday (or Thursday). The poll closes on 11-27-12 and the results will post on next week’s “Time to Vote Tuesday!”

Thanks for reading! Happy Watching!

I like the grocery shopping scene from Big Daddy as character Julian throws the cans on the ground to dent and get a discount, lol!

I did Black Friday once when I was a senior in high school. Seeing two women brawl over a DVD copy of The Green Mile was enough for me. These days I might venture in later in the day when the crowds have subsided and see if I can find anything of interest but that’s the end of it. Good luck this week, T!

wooo. man, I like the Green Mile, but fighting over it is ridiculous. Unfortunately people go crazy over a lot of stuff like that. Def an interesting week.
