Welcome to this week’s edition of “Movie News Monday!” (“MNM!”)!!

What is ‘MNM’all about?

In case this is your first time here, “Movie News Monday!” (MNM) is the place to visit every Monday for a quick recap of trending entertainment news! I’ve collected info, rumors, etc from all over just for you to keep you updated on movies being released, actors/actresses in roles, dvd releases to keep a lookout for, which movie won in the box office over the weekend, etc! Are you ready for your weekly update? Here it is!

Editor’s Note:

If you read my previous post entitled “After These Messages…”, you are by now aware that work this holiday season has kept me very very busy. Today is my 13th day straight of heading in to the work place as retail shoppers hunt for the best bargains. I have been trying to stay up to date on everything, but sleep just overtakes the moment I get home from work. Things will be back to normal soon, but I still have movie news for you from other great bloggers around the net. Please visit the links below (each link will open up in a new window as always), and get up to speed on some of the happenings in movie news!

This Just In!!…

#1- “The Weekend Winner.”  This past weekend the #1 spot in the box office went to the vampires once again. As a matter of fact, spots #1-#3 were an exact repeat of the weekend prior (as far as placement is concerned). Along with 3 additional wide releases, see how the box office performed and look at the weekend’s estimated results for Fri, Nov 23 -Sun, Nov 25: HERE at my friend Brian’s page The Soap Box Office.

What did YOU watch this weekend?

#2- “News Bites: Star Wars and Shankars.” Morgan over at Morgan on Media shares some news on the upcoming Star Wars movies, along with the female version of The Expendables, Independence Day and The Beatles. Don’t miss the update. Check it out HERE.

Are you ready for Star Wars to continue?

#3- “New Set Photos” Castor over at Anomalous Material has some new set photos for you from two upcoming movies. Check out this new look at Matt Damon in Elysium HERE and these new pictures from the upcoming film Zero Dark Thirty HERE. Gives a little more to look forward to.

Which of the two are you more interested in seeing?

#4- “Harry Potter…PLUS” Collider just posted an article sharing that Warner Bros will be releasing a $1,000 limited edition of the entire Harry Potter series along with tons of additional footage, features and fun. Harry Potter: Page to Screen: The Complete Filmmaking Journey. I’m sure that this is exciting to some fans of the franchise who will find it worth it to invest. But, that’s a pretty steep price IMO. Check out the details HERE on Collider’s page.

Will you be ordering it?

#5- “This Week’s Blu-ray release.” This week, look for the following films on Blu-ray to possibly add to your collection:

Men In Black 3– Smith and Jones are back again…and joined by Brolin in this 3rd entertaining installment of the extra-terrestrial franchise. Check out my review HERE and look for it in stores Friday.

Several other films also release this week. Check it out!

Also releasing: ParaNorman, Lawless (read my REVIEW), Sparkle, Step Up Revolution and more.

Well, that’s it for this round of “Movie News Monday!” My apologies that it is so “cliff-noted.” Thank you to Soap Box Office, Morgan on Media, Anomalous Material and Collider for “stepping in to help”! 🙂

I’m off to work again right now. You all have a wonderful day.

Thanks for reading! Happy Watching!

T, The Focused Filmographer

up next: “Time to Vote Tuesday!” and my dual-review post for Life of Pi and Rise of the Guardians. STAY TUNED

  1. Sheesh!! It’s Twilight at the box office again??! Ah well at least this is the last one and no more (I hope!)

I actually saw a vampire movie where the character’s name IS Edward, ahah. But no he doesn’t sparkle nor did he stare blankly at a female human. These vamps are actually quite bad ass. Review coming later this week.

  2. Thanks for the link, Terrence. Hope you’re able to get rested up soon. I don’t even go into town on Black Friday, can’t imagine what it would be like to have to work retail then.

That $1000 price tag does seem awful steep… I have no idea what they could even be including that would make it worth that much to anybody.

    • No problem my friend. I began my day off today (Tuesday) ready to go and got hit with a migraine. Knocked me out all day. So bummed. I guess my body needed more rest than I realized and forced me to do so.

Appreciate you standing in during my time of need for Movie News!

  3. Thanks for the link love T!

That Potter box set looks fantastic but $1,000? No way. Seems like the sort of thing my mom would get me for Christmas at a still ridiculous price for a movie like $150. Definitely interesting though!
