February 7, 2013

Today is THURSDAY!!! And you know what that means!! 🙂 It is officially time for another fun-filled edition of “Trailer Time Thursday!”

Here is your weekly fix of “Triple-T” (aka: “Trailer Time Thursday!”)!!

In case this is your first visit to “Triple-T,” here’s what it’s all about:

Seeing as how everyone loves movie previews, “Trailer Time Thursday!” was created to bring all of the trending trailers that you may have missed in theaters, or just need to see, all in one convenient place! It makes Thursdays so great! Get ready! Your Preview Pandemonium awaits!

Check them out and ENJOY!!! :)

Trailers:

Into the White. English and German fighter pilots in WWII shoot each other down and end up fighting to survive in the same cabin in the unforgiving winter cold of the Norwegian wilderness. Tensions rise as temperatures drop in this tale based on a true story. Rupert Grint from Harry Potter stars in this historically based film. Look for it to land in the US on April 12, 2013.

Byzantium. Gemma Arterton (Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters) stars as the vampiric mother of Saoirse Ronan (Hanna) and together the both of them form a pact and must kill to survive as their secret identity is leaked. Directed by Neil Jordan (The Brave One, The Crying Game), this story of 2-century old vampire seductress and her daughter looks to bleed into theaters/homes slowly over 2013 with no concrete release date.

Fast & Furious 6. Dom, Brian and the rest of the crew are recruited by Agent Hobbs to track down another deadly crew in exchange for full pardons. Don’t miss this explosive first full trailer for the upcoming addition to the franchise. Cars, Guns, Girls and more light up the screen…along with Michelle Rodriguez. Rev your engines and get ready to race to your theaters on May 24, 2013 to watch Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Jordana Brewster, Michelle Rodriguez and more hit up the screen.

From Up On Poppy Hill (US release trailer). From the same studio that brought us wonderful delights such as Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke comes this story of a group of teens who try to make a difference in their community. Here’s the synopsis from IMDB: “A group of Yokohama teens look to save their school’s clubhouse from the wrecking ball in preparations for the 1964 Tokyo Olympics.” Transport yourself back to the beauty of Studio Ghibli with this upcoming US theatrical release (has already released in other countries around the world) on March 15, 2013.

Stand Off. The cast in this one intrigues me more than anything else with Brendan Fraser (The Mummy), Colm Meaney (Law Abiding Citizen), David O’Hara (Wanted) and more. A robbery gone wrong leads to too many people after the same guy. Jim is wanted by the police, and gangster and perhaps a few more people in this comedic thriller that won’t be fantastic but still looks to be a bit of fun. No release date info available but it saw some minor releases throughout last year.

The Monk. Vincent Cassel (Black Swan) stars in this gothic drama from director Dominik Moll about a man brought up in the monastery whose sermons now impact many and though he thinks to be impervious to temptation after a lifetime of dedication is the target of the Devil who’s after him. Pride, lust, anger and more all look to be quite deadly in this international thriller.

Spotlight Video of the Week:

Dead Man Down Featurettedead_man_down

When a ruthless crime lord’s right hand man double-crosses him after meeting a victim of said crime-lord, revenge is the name of the game. Colin Farrell is the man in the crosshairs between his previous boss and a victim seeking retribution. Co-starring Terrence Howard, Noomi Rapace and Dominic Cooper watch this featurette for Dead Man Down.

Enjoy!

Directed by Niels Arden Oplev (The original The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo) Dead Man Down hits theaters on March 8, 2013.

Well, that’s it for this round of ‘Triple-T’!

My favorite trailers from today: Fast & Furious 6, From Up On Poppy Hill and the Dead Man Down featurette. Which ones are your favorites??

Ok, I haven’t been the biggest Fast and Furious fan but I really enjoyed Fast 5! It got away from the street racing (which I didn’t care for) and went towards a more old school action picture. For that reason I’m pumped about FF6! Hope they can pull it off again!

Fast Five was pretty great. funny you mention the films’ deviation from its roots. I actually wish it returned more to the roots, but something must be said for the progressive evolution of the series. FF6 looks to be continuing the high-octane shenanigans! Can’t wait.
