“Trailer Time Thursday!” 5.2.13

May 2, 2013

Today is THURSDAY!!! And you know what that means!! 🙂 It is officially time for another fun-filled edition of “Trailer Time Thursday!”

Here is your weekly fix of “Triple-T” (aka: “Trailer Time Thursday!”)!!

In case this is your first visit to “Triple-T,” here’s what it’s all about:

Seeing as how everyone loves movie previews, “Trailer Time Thursday!” was created to bring all of the trending trailers that you may have missed in theaters, or just need to see, all in one convenient place! It makes Thursdays so great! Get ready! Your Preview Pandemonium awaits!

Check them out and ENJOY!!! :)

Trailers:

RED 2 (trailer #2). Here’s the second great trailer for the upcoming sequel to RED which stands for “Retired, yet Extremely Dangerous.” The first one was a blast and the sequel finds the crew reassembled (of sorts) in order to find a missing portable nuclear device. Can they get to it in time before it is used for evil? Oh, and an assassin is hot on their trail as well. Look for Bruce Willis, Anthony Hopkins, Helen Mirren, Catherine Zeta-Jones, John Malkovich, Mary Louise Parker and more in RED 2 on July 19, 2013.

The Wolverine (CinemaCon trailer). This short trailer gives a little bit more footage including a look at the Silver Samurai. In modern-day Japan, Logan re-encounters an enemy from his past and is forced to confront him. Prepare for the fight of the Wolverine in this July 26 release that stars Hugh Jackman and more.

Mr. Pip. This trailer surprised me and you should watch it. Mr. Watts, the only remaining white man in a province of Papua New Guinea that has been blockaded off during war is a teacher that has enamoured his students with the Charles Dickens novel “Great Expectations.” It is one particular teenage girl’s fixation with the novel that helps her through the terrible time of tragedy as the whole area is under siege. Starring Hugh Laurie (House), this one I had no idea about before today and is my favorite trailer. Look for Mr. Pip soon.

Pacific Rim (WonderCon trailer). A new exciting trailer from WonderCon gives more footage of the fighting we can expect to see in Pacific Rim. Giant alien monsters have risen up out of the seas and threaten our world. We created giant monster robots to fight them off and save the world instead. And, together, with them, we are “Canceling the Apocalypse!” Oh man, I can’t wait for this one starring Idris Elba, Charlie Hunnam, Charlie Day and a ton of giant robots! Look for it on July 12.

Fast & Furious 6. Warning! This trailer has a little bit more footage that isn’t spoileristic to the plot, but still may keep you from enjoying a couple of small action surprises when you see the movie. Here is the final trailer for the upcoming continuation of the Fast & Furious franchise. Vin Diesel and the crew are joined by Dwayne Johnson, Gina Carano, Luke Evans and more and hit the road on May 24.

The East. An anarchist group, known only as The East, is infiltrated by a member of an operative group hoping to take them down. Only, what happens when that member starts to believe in The East’s cause and beliefs? She is torn between two in this underground-ish film that stars Alexander Skarsgård, Ellen Page and more. Look for it on May 31.

Spotlight Video of the Week:

Violet & Daisy trailerViolet-and-Daisy-footage

Two young women, contract killers, get a job to take out a target…only, when second thoughts run through their mind, the delay of the expected contract fulfillment brings more details to light as the two teenage assassins seem to have bitten off a bit more than they could chew. Starring Saoirse Ronan (an assassin once again), Alexis Bledel, James Gandolfini and more, check out the first trailer for this June 7 release.

Well, that’s it for this round of ‘Triple-T’!

My favorite trailers from today: Mr. Pip, Pacific Rim and RED 2. Which ones are your favorites??

    Hi, Terrence:

    ‘RED 2’ looks pretty cool.

‘Pacific Rim’: To quote Megas XLR. “Chicks dig giant robots!” Also like the idea of a Mech using a ship as a Fungo Bat.

I’ve no doubt Ellen Page will deliver the gods in ‘The East’! Thanks for pointing this one out!

While ‘Violet & Daisy’ looks like a live action, grown up take on the 2003 anime, ‘Gunslinger Girl’.

Hope that Alexis Bledel can pull it off. She’s been in need of a more adult role for a long time.

    Hi, Terrence:

‘Gunslinger Girl’ is an amine series about orphans who are educated, cared for and trained to be assassins by a clandestine, government funded organization.

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0476042/combined

I followed it more for the assorted firepower and preference of each girl.

    Not a bad series, overall.

Drop by Ruth’s and le0pard’s. I’ve guest reviews you may be interested in.
