Today is Tuesday! and if you’ve been coming here for any length of time, you know that, for most people Tuesday is just the day after Monday, but for you it means that “Time to Vote Tuesday” is here!! YES!!! What is “Time to Vote Tuesday”?:
“Time to Vote Tuesday” is the session of fun weekly polls which spark thought, debate, and intrigue! Each poll closes in a week with results posted on the following ‘TVT’!
Last week’s poll: “The Hobbit in the Spotlights!“ has officially closed and the results are in with 30 total votes. Asking which 2 characters from Peter Jackson’s presentation of J.R.R. Tolkein’s classic works are your favorite? The competition was fierce and Sauron, without his ring, proved he had little power to control the voters as he ended with 0 votes! haha. Simply put…he didn’t pass!
Gandalf, of course, won the poll as your favorite character in the series, and you may or may not be surprised at how many votes the other options all received. Be sure to check out the rest of the results in last week’s poll HERE! Thanks to all that voted and made last week’s poll fun!
—————–
This week’s edition of ‘TVT’ entitled “Solo Survivor Man” brings up a debate over movies that feature one character for the majority of the film. A one man show if you will. While technically the ones chosen to vote from are not complete solo films (like Secret Honor or The Noah), the ones chosen spend the majority of the film with a focus on just one character in semi/complete solitude facing some sort of peril or danger from without or within.
I’m sure that any of today’s contestants would’ve preferred to be alone as opposed to having Donkey as their companion! 🙂
In today’s poll, I’d like for you to consider a few things prior to voting. Consider the performance of the actor (especially given almost nothing or no one to actually interact with during filming), the peril faced, the way the film made you fear/feel and the movie’s rewatchability factor. Some pretty solid contenders in this category (sorry, there is no Wall-E in this poll for reason of the requested considerations and, out of the other options, Wall-E was the least “alone.”)
The poll is asking for the “Best” and not necessarily your “favorite”…which can be different from one another.
——–
Thanks for joining me today! Which one man show did you choose? and why? Let me know in the comment section below! Can’t wait to see the results next week. Be sure to vote before the polls close on 6-25-13. The results will post on next week’s “Time to Vote Tuesday!”
Thanks for reading! Happy Watching!

I’ve not seen life of pi. But among all the others, moon is the most well made all around movie. It’s also an example of what can be achieved in cinema that can rival live theatre. I have nothing but praise for this movie because I think it’s one of the all time greats.

hey Chris. Nice choice. I like Moon myself. some real good choices in this poll (IMO) haha.
I am curious what you will think of Life of Pi after you see it. Thanks for voting

“Moon” baby. If you want to go old school, then “Silent Running”.

Ooh, pulling out the old school here! Nice. Thanks for voting.
I really liked Moon and i own it. I think it’s what kept me from liking Source Code as much as I should’ve (?). My expectations were too high perhaps

They all had company though, in moon he had the robot, I am Legend had the dog 😦 Even Tom Hanks had Wilson. WILSON!!!

Moon is a good choice. I thought for sure you’d mention something about finally seeing another poll on TVT that only let you choose 1 option. hahaha

I haven’t seen Moon yet, but I loved Buried. That one surprised the hell out of me.

Buried really got me too. It was one of those movies that, after seeing it, I couldn’t get my thoughts together to write a review. That happened to me with Source Code and Side Effects as well. I liked the movies well enough, just didn’t know what I thought about it in the end. Buried was gripping the entire time.

It was a tough pick between Moon and Life of Pi but I ended up going for the latter.

Thanks for voting/commenting. Interesting. What made Life of Pi win over Moon for ya?

While Wilson is one of my favorite personified objects, I went with Life with Pi because of the journey and the special effects swooned me.

Great poll T, sorry I missed it yesterday 😦 I went with Castaway as Tom Hanks was incredible!! But Life of Pi would’ve gotten my vote too if I could pick two.

Cast Away was my choice although I almost wanted to choose either Buried or 127 Hours. I haven’t seen Moon or Life of Pi yet…

Thanks for voting, Kim. Buried was good too. I’m a lil surprised to see the low amt of votes for 127 Hours, but the competition is pretty tough here. ha.
ooh, wait til you see Life of Pi. I will be interested in your thoughts once you do

Yeah! LUCKY YOU!! about the retail and movie section 😉
I hope you don’t have the same issue as having the unwatched 80% drama…thats why I have been taking my time. Can’t watch heavy movies too often.
