“Trailer Time Thursday!” 7.25.13

July 25, 2013

Today is THURSDAY!!! And you know what that means!! 🙂 It is officially time for another fun-filled edition of “Trailer Time Thursday!”

Here is your weekly fix of “Triple-T” (aka: “Trailer Time Thursday!”)!!

In case this is your first visit to “Triple-T,” here’s what it’s all about:

Seeing as how everyone loves movie previews, “Trailer Time Thursday!” was created to bring all of the trending trailers that you may have missed in theaters, or just need to see, all in one convenient place! It makes Thursdays so great! Get ready! Your Preview Pandemonium awaits!

Check them out and ENJOY!!! :)

Trailers of the Week:

Last Vegas. Jon Turteltaub (National Treasure, Cool Runnings) directs Michael Douglas, Robert DeNiro, Morgan Freeman, Kevin Kline and more in this comedy of a group of childhood friends, now in their golden years, who hit up Las Vegas to celebrate the upcoming tying of the knot of one of their own. But, before the wedding begins, it’s Party-Time Vegas Style. The bachelor party of The Hangover meets Cocoon begins on November 1, 2013.

Gravity. Everytime I read the title I get that John Mayer song stuck in my head. Although this one is far from it. Astronauts are stuck in outer space and adrift after debris crashes into their space shuttle. The helplessness of space becomes a stark and sobering reality in this thriller that stars Sandra Bullock and George Clooney. Look for this out-of-this-world adventure directed by Alfonso Cuarón (Children of Men) to launch into a theater near you on October 4, 2013.

For another mini-trailer for Gravity check out this video HERE.

Snowpiercer. Check out another new trailer for this upcoming “post-apocalyptic” film that shows a bit more of the action to expect in this anticipated movie. A train travels the world and separates the remaining people left on planet Earth by class status. Things go awry when that status-quo becomes unacceptable to the riders on the train. Starring Chris Evans, Tilda Swinton and so many more, look to board this train soon.

For more, be sure to check out the animated prequel for Snowpiercer HERE.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. The sequel to The Hunger Games has a new trailer! Jennifer Lawrence stars as Katniss (“The Girl On Fire”) and prepares for the 75th Hunger Games along with a rebellion in Panem that seems to be fueled by her defiance against the Capitol. Prepare for the games to begin on November 22, 2013.

Mandela: The Long Walk To Freedom. After last week’s teaser trailer, here is the first full-length trailer for this biopic starring Idris Elba as Nelson Mandela. November 29, 2013 is the date that limited theaters can begin their journey following the life of this renowned leader in South Africa.

47 Ronin. Keanu Reeves is once again “The One” in this tale of a band of samurai warriors who fight against innumerable enemies in search of vengeance. The look of this one has potential to be either pretty bold and ingenious or bland and insulting. It reminds me a bit of 300 mixed with The Last Samurai mixed with The Matrix mixed with The Man With The Iron Fists…and that concerns me. Tell me what you think and prepare for the 47 on Christmas Day 2013.

***For more on 47 Ronin, don’t miss THE HOLLYWOOD SPY’s spotlight with some great posters and interesting history behind 47 Ronin. Click HERE.

The Counselor. Enjoy this thriller’s trailer starring Brad Pitt, Michael Fassbender, Javier Bardem, Cameron Diaz, Penelope Cruz and more! Directed by Ridley Scott, The Counselor is all about a lawyer who bites off a bit more than he can chew when he gets involved with some drug pushers. This one is picking up some steam and grabbing attention. What do you think of this October 25 release?

Spotlight Video of the Week:

Marvel’s Agent Carter One-Shotagentcarter

Marvel really is smart with a lot of their planning and movie productions. I’ve always enjoyed their shorts (i.e. “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor’s” etc.) Here’s the latest one teasing more of Agent Carter (the bombshell girlfriend of Cap’s in Captain America: The First Avenger). Look’s like she’s taken a few tips from the star-spangled superhero and has some moves of her own. Check it out!

Can’t wait for Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Look for it in theaters on April 4, 2014.

Well, that’s it for this round of ‘Triple-T’!

My favorite trailers from today: The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Gravity and The Counselor.

Which ones are your favorites??

lol Las Vegas seems like The Expendables with old legitimate actors instead of action stars.

“old legitimate actors” ha. I’m curious what you really have to say about the ones who WERE in The Expendables. haha. Thanks for checking out the trailers

Gravity looks excellent. A bit Moon-like in some aspects. Very much looking forward to that one.

47 Ronin does not look like I thought it was going to whatsoever. I thought it was going to be more like The Last Samurai. Looks like Keanu’s only happy if he’s playing “The One”!

Gravity looks like it just may soar above up to meet expectations and beyond (see what I did there?) 😀

I think I had the same expectations as you for 47 Ronin. we’ll see as time goes on I guess. Thanks for checking out this week’s trailers here

I’m definitely there for THE COUNSELOR, and probably Hunger Games. I agree with your assessment of 47 RONIN, it made me think of THE FIFTH ELEMENT as well, it has that sci-fi/ancient mythology/wacko factor, if that makes any sense, which I liked. And the problem with that Agent Carter clip is, it’s too short. But I’ll take it, cos I know she’ll never get her own movie. Thanks for putting this together T.

yep. Agent Carter is the Agent Coulson of the 40’s. 🙂

Jaina and I were discussing 47 Ronin. Didn’t you maybe expect something different when first announced? I’m not sure about it yet.

Thank YOU for stopping in to watch and for the sharing on FB. Appreciate it.

Thanks for the linky dinky, dear Terrence 🙂
As you know I’m very excited about SNOWPIERCER. Love that kind of sf movies with a message and you know I love me Kiss Evans.
RONIN 47 looks interesting, although, over at my place, just like here at yours, the general opinion is that Keanu is not fit for such a role 🙂 Should be fun, though, love epic fantasies

I already have GRAVITY trailer ready for tomorrow with some cool science facts too 🙂

Wow… Gravity is impressive. Okay, it is less a trailer, more a clip (or even short film) but it is mightily impressive.
