Here is your weekly fix of “Triple-T” (aka: “Trailer Time Thursday!”)!!

In case this is your first visit to “Triple-T,” here’s what it’s all about:

Seeing as how everyone loves movie previews, “Trailer Time Thursday!” was created to bring all of the trending trailers that you may have missed in theaters, or just need to see, all in one convenient place! It makes Thursdays so great! Get ready! Your Preview Pandemonium awaits!

Check them out and ENJOY!!! :)

Trailers of the Week:

Lone Survivor. Join Mark Wahlberg, Eric Bana, Ben Foster and more in this action drama based on the failed Navy SEAL team mission “Operation Red Wings” from June 28, 2005. A mission to capture/kill Taliban leader Ahmad Shahd ended with only one surviving member of a four member team…hence the title. The mission begins again on January 10.

Cold Comes The Night. Alice Eve stars with Bryan Cranston in this thriller in which “a struggling motel owner (Eve)…along with her daughter, is taken hostage by a career criminal (Cranston) as he attempts to retrieve his cash package from a crooked cop. Everyone gets in over their heads, and a series of double-crosses leaves a string of dead bodies in this pulse-pounding story about desperation and survival.” Look for this one in theaters when the weather gets colder.

Romeo & Juliet. Don’t really need a synopsis for this one, do you? Just know that it is the umpteenth retelling of the classic Shakespearean tragedy of love. This trailer has a strong hint of a Twilight-feel to it (that’s not too positive in my book, folks), but it stars an impressive cast including Hailee Steinfeld, Ed Westwick, Paul Giamatti, Damien Lewis, Stellan Skarsgård, Kodi Smit-McPhee and more. Limited retelling begins on September 6.

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. This remake of the wonderful 1947 Danny Kaye/Virginia Mayo film gives us a fantastic first trailer and stars Ben Stiller as the rather quiet dayworker who lives vicariously through his daydreams of greater adventures and finally finds himself surprised when a true-life adventure falls in his lap. Co-starring Kristen Wiig, I am surprised (delightfully) to find that I am truly excited about a film directed by Ben Stiller. The secret life begins on Christmas Day. Enjoy this beautiful trailer.

American Hustle. David O. Russell directs yet another great looking film with another great cast. Christian Bale, Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner, Robert DeNiro and more star in this fictional film loosely based on the events of the 1980s during which a con artist working for the FBI exposed Congressional corruption. Part of the official synopsis colorfully states “Like David O. Russell’s previous films, American Hustle defies genre, hinging on raw emotion, and life and death stakes.” And I can’t wait for December 25th for multiple reasons now.

About Time (extended trailer). A new trailer for this rom-com starring Rachel McAdams (Is she coming after Jennifer Aniston’s Rom-Com Queen crown?). A young man discovers he has the ability to travel in time and uses it to make changes in his love life…only, as expected, things don’t go as planned. Click meets The Time Traveler’s Wife on November 8, 2013 in this film directed by Richard Curtis (Love Actually).

Additional Trailers of the Week: (Click title to watch trailer)

Spotlight Video of the Week:

X-Men: Days of Future Past -Trask Industries viral videosentinel2

Marvel really is doing a lot with their upcoming movies…and, while they don’t “own” the X-MEN movies, the next one coming from FOX still has the Marvel touch of flair with exciting pre-release marketing. Enjoy this viral video for Trask Industries, ran by Bolivar Trask (Peter Dinklage), who in the future timeline, runs Trask Industries that built and ran the Sentinels! Check it out!

Can’t wait for X-Men: Days of Future Past. Look for it in theaters on May 23, 2014.

Well, that’s it for this round of ‘Triple-T’!

My favorite trailers from today: The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, American Hustle and Cold Comes The Night (for Bryan Cranston’s bad guy Russian accent!).

Which ones are your favorites??

up next: Review for 2 Guns and “New Posters of the Week”

  1. Most of these look real good. Especially American Hustle. David O. Russell is one of those few people in Hollywood that usually directs what he writes. His stuff is always worth watching and it’s cool to already have another of his films coming out so soon after the last one.

Romeo and Juliet doesn’t hold any interest for me though. They don’t seem to be doing anything different or exciting with it, and based solely on the trailer, the performances don’t appear to be anything out of this world.

  2. Hi, Terrence:

It’s nice to see that you’ve cast your net wide and came up with some choice offerings!

My near four decade long belief that :Military Intelligence” is an oxymoron and rarely, if ever, right hold true for ‘Lone Survivor’. A decent enough actioner with a hard core cast!

Bryan Cranston playing a bad guy?

Say it ain’t so! And as a Russian?

Granted, few actors play bad guys with the depth of Mr. Cranston. This one looks a bit shallow and tailor made for Joe Pesci. Though, I have a very strong feeling that the damsel in distress (Eve) is going to be much more than the bad guy bargained for!

Christian Bale in curls? With Bradley Cooper, Jeremy Renner and incredibly hot women?

    I’m there!

    PS: Drop by Ruth’s.

    • Thank you for the kind compliment sir.

Yes, some great stuff this week and I quite like the range. Cranston has had my attention since Malcolm in the Middle and I am so glad he has found so many roles that require more respect since then.

and American Hustle? I’m right there with you! 🙂
