Trailers of the Week:

1. The Counselor. A new trailer for the thriller about a lawyer who finds himself in deeper than he thought he would be with some drug traffickers. Directed by Ridley Scott and powered by the cast of Brad Pitt, Michael Fassbender, Javier Bardem, Cameron Diaz, Penélope Cruz, John Leguizamo, Natalie Dormer and more, this one already has a verdict of “guilty” from me…guilty of grabbing my attention. Look for it on October 25, 2013.

2. Muppets Most Wanted. On tour once again, the Muppets end up unintentionally involved in a jewel heist while in Europe. A Kermit doppleganger is to blame for mistaken identity and insanity ensues. Accompanied by a whole host of actors including Ricky Gervais, Tina Fey, Tom Hiddleston and more, look for the rainbow connection on March 21, 2014.

3. Ender’s Game. The final trailer for Ender’s Game is here. Starring Asa Butterfield, Harrison Ford, Viola Davis, Abigail Breslin, Hailee Steinfeld, Ben Kingsley and more, this movie is based on the book of the same name. 70 years after a horrible war with aliens, Earth’s final hope is a bright pupil in an advanced military school whose tactics are depended upon to stop an upcoming invasion. The end is near and will be upon us on November 1.

4. Thor: The Dark World. This latest trailer for Marvel’s next Asgardian adventure is full of promise for this sequel now directed by Alan Taylor (director of multiple episodes of Game of Thrones). Thor gets the help of his friends and former foes in a quest to protect Jane Foster, his family and his kingdom from a dark threat. Look for him to drop the hammer down on some bad guys on November 8, 2013.

5. All Is Lost. Already being compared to Life of Pi and Castaway (only minus Richard Parker the tiger or Wilson the volleyball), Robert Redford embarks on a solo sailing and ends up in distress after a collision at sea threatens his well-being and survival. Will his resourcefulness and luck run out or will he survive? Directed by J. C. Chandor (Margin Call), Find All is Lost in a theater near you on October 18.

6. Her. Joaquin Phoenix pairs up with Amy Adams once again (remember The Master?) and is also joined by Rooney Mara and Scarlett Johansson in this Spike Jonze film set in the near future. Theodore (Phoenix) begins an unlikely relationship with a personal AI companion/operating system (essentially a computer like Tony Stark’s Jarvis) that is named Samantha (voiced by Johansson). Designed to meet his every need, Samantha’s curiosity sparks Theodore’s and unlikely feelings blossom. Can one fall in love with a computer? Find out and what he sees in HER on November 20.

7. Captain Phillips. Tom Hanks stars in this true story-based film of a sea captain whose boat is taken hostage by pirates on the open seas. Committed to doing everything it takes to protect his crew, Captain Phillips works to keep the hijackers from successfully reaching their goal. The first American cargo ship to be hijacked in about two hundred years won’t go down without a fight. Look for this biographical drama to launch on October 11.

Spotlight Video of the Week:

1st Trailer: The Monuments Menthe-monuments-men-slice1

A crew of art historians and museum curators come together to possess and protect the timeless and prices works of art and history that the Nazis stole while powering through Europe in World War II before Hitler demolishes them all. Directed & written by George Clooney and starring he along with Matt Damon, Cate Blanchett, John Goodman, Bill Murray, Jean Dujardin and more, this one will remind viewers of a mix between Ocean’s Eleven and Inglourious Basterds and it looks great! Check it out!

Can’t wait for this one on December 18, 2013.

Well, that’s it for this round of ‘Triple-T’!

My favorite trailers from today: umm, can I just say ALL of them this week? I think I’m allowed to do that, right? haha. Just too many good ones this week. I especially enjoy The Monuments Men, Her and Captain Phillips.

Which ones are your favorites??

up next: Review for Elysium and “New Posters of the Week”

    • I am curious about Ender’s Game but I won’t read it until after seeing the movie. I have a feeling I will be disappointed by it that would only be magnified if I were to see it after reading and then compare it to the book.

      Thanks for watching
