Trailers of the Week: (all synopses are directly from IMDB.com)

1. Fury.fury

  • Starring: Brad Pitt, Shia LaBeouf, Logan Lerman and more.
  • Releasing: November 14, 2014.
  • Director: David Ayer
  • Synopsis: “April, 1945. As the Allies make their final push in the European Theatre, a battle-hardened army sergeant named Wardaddy commands a Sherman tank and her five-man crew on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Outnumbered and out-gunned, and with a rookie soldier thrust into their platoon, Wardaddy and his men face overwhelming odds in their heroic attempts to strike at the heart of Nazi Germany.”
  • Thoughts: I’m looking forward to “Brad’s Band of Inglourious Brothers.” Looks tense. -T

2. The Prince.prince

  • Starring: Bruce Willis, John Cusack, Jason Patric and more.
  • Releasing: August 22, 2014
  • Director: Brian Miller
  • Synopsis: “A mechanic with ties to the underworld is unwittingly drawn back into the life he gave up when he suspects that his daughter has been kidnapped, and he is forced to confront his former rival in order to rescue her.”

  • Thoughts: Looks like an action movie from the 90’s with actors from then as well. I’ll give it a shot but it will probably be garbage given that it comes out in August and we’re just barely hearing about it.-T

3. The Last of Robin Hood.robinhood

  • Starring:  Kevin Kline, Susan Sarandon, Dakota Fanning and more.
  • Releasing: August 29, 2014
  • Director: Richard Glatzer, Wash Westmoreland
  • Synopsis: “The last days in the life of legendary Hollywood actor Errol Flynn.”
  • Thoughts: Kevin Kline as the womanizing Hollywood legend that was Robin Hood. I’ve often wondered who could play Flynn in a biopic. Looks like Kline had fun doing it too. -T

4. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtlestmnt

  • Starring: Megan Fox, Will Arnett, William Fichtner and more.
  • Releasing: August 8, 2014
  • Director: Jonathan Liebesman
  • Synopsis: “Four mutant warriors fight to save their city from an evil kingpin.”

  • Thoughts: A greater look at the turtles, Splinter, Shredder and more. This trailer doesn’t make me want to see the film any more, regardless of the amount of added dubstep. -T

5. Love is Strangeloveisstrange

  • Starring: Alfred Molina, John Lithgow, Marisa Tomei and more.
  • Releasing: August 22, 2014
  • Director: Ira Sachs
  • Synopsis: “After Ben and George get married, George is fired from his teaching post, forcing them to stay with friends separately while they sell their place and look for cheaper housing — a situation that weighs heavily on all involved.”
  • Thoughts: Been a while since I’ve seen Lithgow or Molina in anything. An interesting and…”strange”…pairing. Love is Strange. -T

6. Frank.frank

  • Starring: Michael Fassbender, Domhnall Gleeson, Maggie Gyllenhaal and more.
  • Releasing: August 22, 2014
  • Director: Lenny Abrahamson
  • Synopsis: “Jon, a young wanna-be musician, discovers he’s bitten off more than he can chew when he joins an eccentric pop band led by the mysterious and enigmatic Frank.”
  • Thoughts: Michael Fassbender singing and running around but not showing his face. This may be a deal-breaker for some in love with him haha. Perhaps not the film for everyone, but it’s got its charm. -T

7. The Drop.drop

  • Starring: James Gandolfini, Tom Hardy, Noomi Rapace and more.
  • Releasing: September 12, 2014
  • Director: Michael R. Roskam
  • Synopsis: “Bob Saginowski finds himself at the center of a robbery gone awry and entwined in an investigation that digs deep into the neighborhood’s past where friends, families, and foes all work together to make a living – no matter the cost.”

  • Thoughts: Tom Hardy is just cranking out good stuff and this one is adding to his resume. It’s kind of like Phillip Seymour Hoffman and James Gandolfini were working on some of the same types of movies before they passed away and we are getting to see the fruits of their labors. I’m seeing this one.. -T

8. The Judge.judge

  • Starring: Robert Downey, Jr., Robert Duvall, Vera Farmiga, Billy Bob Thronton and more.
  • Releasing: October 10, 2014.
  • Director:  David Dobkin
  • Synopsis: “Big city lawyer Hank Palmer returns to his childhood home where his father, the town’s judge, is suspected of murder. Hank sets out to discover the truth and, along the way, reconnects with his estranged family.”

  • Thoughts: A lot of good actors in this one and Downey, Jr. is just one of those actors that embodies his roles that he chooses very well. He’s got a good agent! Hooray for Robert Duvall too! -T

Spotlight Video of the Week:

Teaser for: The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1mocking

  • Thoughts: Ooh, that President Snow! Watch this propaganda promo from the Capital of Panem and prepare for what is to come in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 that releases November 21.

Well, that’s it for this round of ‘Triple-T’!

My favorite trailers from today:

  • The Judge
  • Fury
  • The Drop

Which ones are your favorites??

I actually really like that Mockinjay teaser. It is a pretty clever slow reveal. I thought the trailer for The Judge was pretty dire though. Looks like a midday movie.

One of my friends just told me they wanted to see me review Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I pretty much told them if they wanted me to do that, they’d have to pay me..and I’d still have to think about it..haha! Not too enthused with that one.

But a lot of potentially good ones here 🙂 The Drop and The Judge peaks my interest.
