“It’s Time to Vote Tuesday” 174!

August 26, 2014

Today is Tuesday! And you know what that means! It is time for TIME TO VOTE TUESDAY!

For most people Tuesday is just the day after Monday, but for you it means that “Time to Vote Tuesday” is here!!

“Time to Vote Tuesday” is the session of fun weekly polls which spark thought, debate, and intrigue! Each poll closes in a week with results posted on the following ‘TVT’!

The last TVT poll has now closed (see it HERE). Entitled “Best of the Blockbusters” it asked voters to pick the top three summer blockbusters of all time! The votes are in (27 total) and the winner is:The-Dark-Knight-Wallpaper-the-dark-knight-30530515-1280-800

Thanks to all who voted!

This week’s edition of ‘TVT’ focuses on another fun (or sore) movie subject: SEQUELS. Entitled “Saddest Sequels” today’s poll asks you to choose the top 4 most disappointing sequels of the year so far. With the summer now over with this upcoming weekend, it seems the perfect time to ask.Best-Movie-Sequels

Sequels are a never-ending thing in Hollywood. (Let’s be thankful we haven’t gotten “Land Before Time 134” or “American Pie Spinoff 19.”) While some are great and even better than their predecessor, some you wish never existed. Today’s main poll asks you to consider the latter in a slightly different way.Sequels-and-remakes-2014-list-of-upcoming-movies

I want you to think about 2014’s sequels and the ones that disappointed you the most in comparison to your expectations. This means that even the possibly preferred sequels Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, X-Men: Days of Future Past or Captain America: The Winter Soldier may even get a vote from a few people who expected it to be even better for this reason or that. A vote for a sequel is not necessarily saying it was bad, just saying it was one of the most disappointing.ANCHORMAN 2: THE LEGEND CONTINUES

With that understanding—

Today I ask you

In addition, here is a bonus poll for you:

Nothing in the past, present, or future will ever be a worse sequel than “Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.”

Some sequels aren’t great but still are entertaining or interesting (I’m looking at you Terminator 3/Salvation) but everything about “Crystal Skull” was terrible and took all the worse, unbelievable bits of the Indy franchise and put them center stage for 2.5 hours.

Then ended it with a damn internet meme of “it was aliens”.

I dare say the Star Wars prequels, Jar Jar and all, are still better than “Crystal Skull”.

    I REALLY hate that movie….

Out of that list, I’m most looking forward to Mockingjay! The Hobbit 3 a distant second.

I gotta say, I know we’re all supposed to be against sequels in general but it’s been a solid summer for them IMO. Spider-Man (not a fan) and Muppets (okay but not as good as the first one) got my first two votes, Transformers got the third vote because it would be great if Michael Bay would learn how to make an explosive movie that ALSO has decent dialog/acting but I guess that’s out, and since I either liked most of the other sequels or knew going in that they’d be bad, I gave The Purge my final vote because I’m disappointed that it exists. 🙂
